# Africa’s data is fragmented.

> Nyansora is the data engine for African intelligence. One pipeline collects, digitizes, labels, preserves and serves African data, held on the continent.

From elders’ memories never written down to ministry filing rooms that cannot reach each other, the continent’s knowledge is scattered and undocumented. Nyansora is building the engine that captures and connects it.

## Africa’s data, told in five phases

### Phase 01 · Fragmented: Fragmented Landscape

Critical data exists across isolated systems, disconnected platforms, and regional infrastructure silos.

Figure: **0.035%** of the training web: Africa’s top seven languages

- **Isolated Data Silo**: 42% of adults in sub-Saharan Africa are unbanked. The lender cannot see the farmer it declines.
- **Disconnected Data Source**: Of Timbuktu’s 400,000 manuscript pages, only one in ten has been digitized.
- **Regional Infrastructure Gap**: Weather stations run at one-eighth of the recommended density, so the rains keep arriving as surprises.

### Phase 02 · Mapping: Mapping the Network

Nyansora identifies the systems, dependencies, and connection points needed to create a coordinated data environment.

Figure: **54 countries** one framework for lawful exchange

- **Nyansora Connection Layer**: The exchange site, staked out. Every route on the landscape will answer to this point.
- **Identified Connection Point**: Where the civil-registry silo will meet the network, with consent and provenance mapped first.
- **Planned Data Pathway**: A corridor that exists only as intention: surveyed, staked, not yet built.
- **Undocumented Territory**: Most of Africa’s 2,000+ living languages have no written form. What was never recorded can’t be mapped, only collected from scratch.

### Phase 03 · Integration: Building the Connections

Shared infrastructure and secure data pathways begin linking previously separated regions and platforms.

Figure: **5 stages** collect · digitize · label · preserve · serve

- **Secure Data Bridge**: A governed route between two systems. Provenance travels with every record that crosses it.
- **Shared Infrastructure**: One pipeline from memory, field and shelf to model-ready data, serving many customers and owned by none of them.
- **First Connected Region**: The language corpus comes onto the rails first: speech and text in Akan, then Ewe, Ga, Hausa, Yoruba.

### Phase 04 · Coordination: Coordinating the Flow

Nyansora enables information to move consistently across systems while maintaining security, reliability, and local control.

Figure: **100%** of records carry consent and provenance

- **Cross-Regional Data Flow**: Crop, price, flood and health signals moving between regions that had never exchanged a record.
- **Local Control Maintained**: Source communities keep attribution, a revenue share and the right to withdraw.
- **Coordinated Exchange**: Regional systems stay distinct; the exchange is what lets them speak.

### Phase 05 · Unified Flow: Unified African Data Ecosystem

One connected data infrastructure layer creates a continuous, intelligent flow across Africa.

Figure: **$2.9 tn** potential AI value for Africa by 2030

- **Unified Network**: Every partition reachable from every other, on governed terms.
- **Continuous Data Movement**: A lender prices a smallholder loan; a city sees a flood coming; a ministry sees a harvest coming.
- **Owned on African Terms**: The corpus is the core asset, held on the continent, built by people paid as skilled knowledge workers.

## Africa should be the miner and the owner, not the mine.

## What is Nyansora?

**One pipeline, from memory, field and shelf to model-ready data.** Cultural knowledge is the first cargo; soil, weather, market, health and financial data follow on the same rails, held on the continent, governed with the communities who produce it, and licensed on African terms.

1. **Collect**: In the field, with consent
2. **Digitize**: Paper, tape and memory
3. **Label**: Transcribed, translated, reviewed
4. **Preserve**: Governed with its communities
5. **Serve**: Model-ready, on African terms

## The case in four figures

- **2 weeks**: Every two weeks a language dies, and its entire oral archive dies with it.
- **0.035%**: Africa’s seven largest languages’ share of the web that trains AI. English holds 40.8%.
- **90 million**: Children with no birth record, invisible to every system that plans a school or a clinic.
- **$2.9 trillion**: AI’s potential addition to Africa’s economy by 2030. None of it arrives without the data layer.
